Updated November 12 2024

No, you cannot bring your dependents through a Youth Mobility Scheme visa. Young nationals with dependents (spouses, children, or other family members) cannot apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa. The Youth Mobility Scheme visa allows young nationals aged between 18-30 years to live and work in the country for 2 years.

Two ways by which a Youth Mobility Scheme Visa holder can bring their family member to the UK are:

  • By changing the Youth Mobility Scheme visa to another UK work visa
  • By applying for another UK visa for family members, except the UK Dependent visa

Note: Dependants in the UK can work without restrictions, including self-employers and volunteer work.
