Can I study on a Subclass 462 visa?

Yes, foreign nationals can study in Australia with a Subclass 462 visa. However, the course a foreign national must choose should last up to four months, not more than that.  An applicant would be allowed to take study or training courses for up to four months on each Working Holiday visa that they hold in Australia. For example:

 

• With the First Subclass 462 visa can study on a course valid for four months
• With the Second Subclass 462 visa an applicant can again choose a course that will be over by four months
• With the Third Working Holiday visa in Australia an applicant will again have four months to complete their course

 

The applicant can study for 12 months through a Working Holiday visa over the term of three Working Holiday visas in Australia. Although studying is permitted on a Working Holiday visa it is for short time. The applicant must remember that the primary purpose of getting the visa is to acquire work experience, enjoy a holiday, or earn knowledge in short-term courses in Australia. The primary intention should not be to study in Australia.
