The Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) is now replaced with the Skills in Demand Visa (subclass 482). The Australia Skills in Demand (SID) visa is a temporary visa that allows skilled foreign workers to reside and seek employment in the country for a maximum of 4 years. In some cases, you may also qualify for permanent residency by applying as the partner of an Australian PR holder or citizen.
