The H-1B visa status indicates the immigration status of the visa holder in the U.S. It has all the necessary information about the visa holder, such as the name of the visa and its validity. Applicants can check their visa status online on the official government portal.

The H-1B visa applicants can check their visa status either through an online portal or offline through telephonic calls.
The H-1B visa petition is initially filled by the employer, after which the employee completes the form, attaches the documents, signs, and submits the application. Therefore, the employer and the worker can check their visa status online. To track the H-1B visa status, the applicant must follow the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the visa portal site through which the application was submitted.
Step 2: Choose the visa type - H-1B visa.
Step 3: Select the H-1B visa status option
Step 4: Click on the H-1B visa tracking and press the ‘go here’ button.
Step 5: Go to the H-1B visa application tracking and status check system and press the click here button.
Step 6: You will be redirected to the USCIS visa status page.
Step 7: Select ‘Non-immigrant visa’ from the drop-down box under the visa application type.
Step 8: Go to ‘Select a location’ and select the state and city from which the application was submitted from the drop-down return.
Step 9: Enter the application number or the case ID number, passport number, and the first five letters of your surname (as per the records) in the respective columns.
Step 10: Enter the Captcha code shown in the box and click the enter button
Step 11: A page will appear with the updated visa status.
