For more than a century, immigration has been a means for supporting the economic, cultural as well as population growth in Canada. Across the years, many have migrated to Canada, making it their new home. According to the 2020 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration, “Whether seeking better economic opportunities, reuniting with family members, or seeking protection as resettled refugees or other protected persons, newcomers to Canada have been a major source of ongoing growth and prosperity.” Immigration has made Canada as we know today, a diverse society with strong social and economic foundations, along with a continued potential for further prosperity and growth. Supporting the economic and demographic growth in Canada, immigration will continue to be a key driver in advancing the Canadian economy.
