A CRS score of 400 is generally not considered a good score on an overall basis; however, it may be enough for specific category-based selection draws such as French language proficiency. To apply for Canada PR through Express Entry, a competitive or a good CRS score should be above 450. According to the latest Express Entry draws in 2025, applicants with a CRS score of 500 and above have increased chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA). However, you can increase your CRS score of 400 by improving your language scores, upgrading your work experience, securing a provincial nomination, etc.

The CRS is a points-based system that evaluates and ranks your profile based on specific criteria. The maximum CRS score for Canada PR is 1,200, which is 600 points for the core factors and candidates with a PNP nomination can get an extra 600 points.
