Is a CRS score of 600 good?

Generally, a CRS Score above 500 is considered a good CRS Score for Canada PR. In recent Express Entry draws it has been noticed that CRS scores of 500 to 800 points have been the minimum requirement for getting an ITA. However, the higher your CRS score, the higher are your chances of getting an ITA for Canada PR. The score depends on factors such as language proficiency, work experience, age, job offer, adaptability, and level of education.

Factors affecting CRS points 

There are many factors that affect the CRS score of a calculator. Express Entry applicants can score a maximum of 1200 points in the CRS. The following are the factors and the maximum score you need to score:

  • Age: Candidates aged between 18 and 44 years can receive the maximum points under this factor. (The max points with your spouse are 100, and without your spouse, 110).
  • Level of education: Candidates with a higher level of education can get higher CRS scores under this factor. You can score a maximum of 150 points under this factor.
  • English and French language proficiency: Must have English and French language proficiency to score a maximum of 170 points with spouse and 160 without. 
  • Adaptability: You will get 25 points if you have prior connections to Canada for studies, work, or relatives residing in the country. 
  • Work experience in Canada: Candidates having 1-5 years of work experience can score up to 80 points under this factor.

The CRS score of a candidate is assessed on the basis of the following factors:

  • Human capital or core factor, along with the common-law partner or spouse factor (500 points)
  • Core factor or Human capital, along with the common-law partner or spouse factor and transferability factors (600 points) 
  • Human capital or Core factor, along with the common-law partner or spouse factor, transferability factors, and additional points (1200 points)

How to improve your CRS score points?

The following are the ways to improve your CRS score:

  • Improve your language proficiency test score 
  • Get a Canadian degree to acquire an additional 30 points
  • Applying through PNP to get 600 additional points 
  • Get 180 points if you have three years of full-time work experience in Canada
  • Apply with your spouse to get additional points
