Specifically targeting candidates in 3 tech occupations, Saskatchewan has invited 621 candidates with tech work experience in the latest Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program [SINP] draw held on September 15, 2020.
This is the largest PNP draw by the province since February this year. The previous SINP draw was on August 26.
Candidates that received invitations in the latest round were from 2 sub-categories – Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry – that come under the International Skilled Worker category of the SINP.
Overview – SINP: September 15 draw
Once registered with the SINP’s EOI system, a score – referred to as the EOI score – is allotted out of 100 based on the 5 factors of age, education, work experience, language ability and connections to the province.
Those with the highest EOI scores are then issued Invitations to Apply [ITAs] in the subsequent SINP draws that are held.
In the latest draw, the minimum EOI score required was 68 for both the sub-categories.
Category | EOI score of lowest ranked candidate | Total candidates invited to apply |
Occupations In-Demand | 68 | 166 |
Express Entry | 68 | 455 |
To be considered by the SINP, candidates from both Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry sub-categories were required to have submitted their Expression of Interest [EOI] profiles with the SINP.
Invited candidates also had their Educational Credential Assessments.
As this was a targeted draw focusing on 3 tech occupations, candidates that received invitations had work experience in any 1 of the following tech occupations as per the National Occupational Classification [NOC] codes –
NOC 2173 | Software engineers and designers |
NOC 2174 | Computer programmers and interactive media developers |
NOC 2175 | Web designers and developers |
The Expression of Interest system is used by the SINP for selecting Canada immigration candidates that have the most potential of thriving in the regional labour market of Saskatchewan. To be considered by the SINP for a provincial nomination, the candidates must demonstrate their commitment to building a life in Saskatchewan. Those invited in the present SINP round had –

Federal Express Entry candidates that had submitted an EOI for Saskatchewan and also scored a minimum of 68 points on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid may have been considered in the latest draw, provided they had the required work experience. Express Entry candidates that secure a nomination through the Provincial Nomination Program [PNP] get an additional 600 points included in the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score of their Express Entry profile. With their profiles boosted in this manner towards the top of the Express Entry pool, provincial nominees are guaranteed to receive an ITA from IRCC [Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada] in the subsequent draws that are held. Hence, provincial nomination continues to be the route to Canada PR in 2020. SINP International Skilled Workers: Expression of Interest [EOI] Selection Results 2020
