At a time in the past, study overseas was more lucrative and attractive to tier-4 overseas students with the option of Post Study Work (PSW) visa.
This visa was applicable in countries like the UK and Australia.
This type of visa was abolished in 2012. Since then, the paths of Tier-2 Visa and Sponsor license have been expensive options that many students found hard to take. Their dreams to do study abroad have been becoming dearer and harder to attain.
Now, the PSW visa is making a comeback in 2021. PSW visa lets international students stay in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years after graduation to find work.
A similar facility is available in countries like Australia and Canada with PSW visa rights granted to students who want to study abroad.
Ms. Vivienne Stern, the Director of UK Universities International (UUKi), said that the details of the PSW visa route for graduation in the UK are already available through a Home Office Factsheet. Students who will start their courses in the academic year 2020/21 will be eligible for a PSW visa.
PSW rights of 2 years in Australia are now accessible for every graduate of undergraduate courses. Long-term extensions are offered to those with a higher-level degree.
Australia’s Global Reputation Taskforce has made recommendations considering how travel restrictions affect international students in Australia.
In Canada, up to 50% of courses can be completed online from their native place, without losing their eligibility to apply for a PSW visa.
Come to New Zealand, you can find that those with visas going to expire between April 2 and July 9, 2020, will get a visa extension at no extra cost. This is valid until September 25, 2020.
New Zealand and Australia have also mutually agreed that once the borders reopen completely, international students could enter each of these countries with a priority granted.
