Red-White-Red Card is the most common type of work permit and residency permit that allows its holder to stay and work in Austria for a period of up to 2 years. This visa is not issued to every employee who wants to work in Austria. It is eligible for this type of visa as it is issued for high-skilled workers from other countries who wish to work in Austria. The eligibility criteria for this visa are measured with a point system.

  • Restricted Work Permit: Indian nationals can start working in Austria, demonstrating their ability to find and maintain a job through this work permit.
  • Work Permit: Foreign nationals who have restricted permit for 1 year can apply for this work visa. This work visa allows foreign nationals to apply of standard work permit for a two-year validity period.
  • Unrestricted Work Permit: After two years of standard work permit holder, they can qualify for the nearly all desirable option—the five-year unrestricted work permit.
