What is the Canada Express Entry program?

Canada Express Entry is one of the easiest and most popular pathways for Canadian immigration. The Express Entry program is an online system that the Canadian government uses. It manages, organizes, and processes the applications of skilled foreign workers seeking permanent residence in the country. The Express Entry oversees applications for three programs:

 

• The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
• The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

 

Around 90,835 candidates have been invited to apply for Canada PR in 2024. Skilled workers looking to move to Canada through the Express Entry program are analyzed based on their skills and ability to contribute to the country’s economy. IRCC conducts regular Express Entry draws to invite candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

What is a Canada Express Entry Draw?

The government of Canada holds frequent Express Entry draws to decide which candidates qualify for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) through the Express Entry program. Individuals with a high ranking are selected in the Express Entry draw to apply for Canada PR. IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) holds draws once every two weeks to invite eligible candidates.

 

The most recent Express Entry draw took place on October 23, 2024, and invited 1,800 trades professionals with a minimum score of 433. A total of 5,961 ITAs were issued in October 2024 through the Express Entry draws.
