What are the eligibility criteria for a Canada PR?

The eligibility criteria for a Canada PR are based on the following factors:

 

• Age:  The applicant must be between 18 to 35 years of age to be awarded the maximum points. 
• Educational qualification:The applicant should have an educational qualification that is equal to Canadian Secondary education or higher than that.
• Work Experience:The applicant must have at least a year of work experience to be awarded minimum points.
• Language Proficiency:The candidate must certify in any one of the following English language proficiency test:
• IELTS
• PTE
• Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP). 

 

If applying for an IELTS test, the applicant must obtain at least 6 bands on the test for maximum points.

Applicants that are proficient in French can take the “d’Evaluation du Français”, for extra points to be awarded.

 

• Financial Stability: The applicant aspiring for a Canada PR must have sufficient funds to have a decent living. The applicant must plan ahead if they wish to sponsor their family members or dependents.
