According to recent data, Portugal has reported a rising demand for acquiring Portuguese citizenship in the last six years. The country received as many as 1.4 million citizenship applications, among which 230,000 applications were received in 2023 alone.

In 2022, Portugal received around 300,000 citizenship applications, marking an all-time high demand for Portuguese citizenship. The demand for Portuguese citizenship has increased by 366% in the last six years.
