To be considered for a provincial nomination by Manitoba, the Canada immigration candidate must submit their Expression of Interest [EOI] with the MPNP. An EOI profile with the MPNP is required if they wish to receive an LAA under either the stream of Skilled Workers Overseas or Skilled Workers in Manitoba.
Once their EOI profile is submitted with the MPNP, the candidate is assessed on various human capital factors, such as – education, work experience, language skills, ties to Manitoba province, and various other factors. An EOI scores out of a total of 1,000 points is allotted subsequently.
Manitoba invites candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams in order to assist in addressing the economic requirements of the province.
While not required to be living in the province at the time of submitting their application, if a candidate is overseas, they will have to show their ties to Manitoba. This can be achieved through either – having close friends or family living in the province, previous experience of having lived in Manitoba, or an invitation under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP.
For the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, on the other hand, the candidate must have a full-time and permanent offer of employment within the province of Manitoba.
For receiving an LAA through the International Education Stream, the Canada immigration candidate is required to meet certain specific criteria that include being a graduate of an educational institution of Manitoba.
