The US consulate continues to see a high intake of Indian students, which was at record levels in 2022. Between the months of January and to till May 14, around five consulates from India managed to issue 14,694 student visas (F1 visas).

Some highest number of visas were issued from New Delhi (8,021), which was followed by Mumbai (2,589) and Hyderabad (1,947). During the same period, 5,663 student visas were issued in 2019. Mumbai (1,514), New Delhi (1,465) and Chennai (did the next highest disbursement of student visas 1,290) respectively.

Around 1.2 lakh the U.S. Consulates and Embassies processed Indian student visa applications in the year 2021.

The US Consulate has new plans to have a record-breaking number of student visas this season. There are no limitation of the slots, moreover thousands of increased number of visa appointments and with no necessity of interviews by waiving off programs for students. Following are the number of student visa appointments that were raised more in Hyderabad.

Despite many challenging situations during the pandemic, the US Consulate General in Hyderabad was open every day. Depending on the floating, there is plan to increase staffing and will shift to a new consulate building by the end of this year.
