The US department of state has released the January 2024 visa bulletin providing important information on the deadlines that determine the availability of immigrant visas and the processing of petitions for adjustment of status for the visa fillings and approvals.
The second quarter of fiscal year will bring significant progress in the Dates for filling, especially for India EB-1 applicants.
The bulletin comprises of both dates for filling applications and application final action dates chart.
Starting January 2024, the USCIS will opt for the Dates for Filing chart for employment-based (EB) submissions for adjustment of status. The Dates for Filing chart states when petitions can be accepted, leading to issuance of permanent residence.
Foreign nationals must have a priority date that is earlier than the stated date for their preference category in order to submit an EB adjustment application.
Only the candidates having a priority date earlier than the given date can submit their applications for the categories listed in specific dates.
Green card or immigration visa applications will be determined by the final action dates. The process aligns with the nation of chargeability and the specific visa category on these dates.
