Alberta invited 150 Express Entry candidates in the latest draw held on 9th January. Candidates with a CRS score of as low as 350 were invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) uses the Alberta Express Entry Stream to invite eligible candidates with a valid Express Entry ID.
The Express Entry Program manages the pool of candidates for the three major economic migration programs of Canada:
Express Entry candidates who are successful in getting a provincial nomination get 600 more points on their CRS score in the Express Entry Pool. The added points effectively guarantee an invitation for Canadian Permanent Residency in the subsequent Express Entry draws.
The minimum required CRS score of 350 in the 9th January draw is remarkably lower than the current Federal Express Entry cut-off score. For instance, the latest Express Entry draw held on 22nd January had a cut-off score of 471.
An offer of employment from Alberta is not required to be considered for an invitation from the AINP.
