BC PNP invites 100 candidates from EEBC, SI, and EI

In the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program [BC PNP] round of invitations on October 20, 2020, a total of 100 candidates have been invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

Of these, 80 invitations were issued under the 4 sub-categories of skilled worker immigration that are covered by the Express Entry BC [EEBC] and Skills Immigration streams. The rest went to candidates under the BC PNP’s Entrepreneur Immigration category. While 15 invitations were for the Base Category, 5 went to Regional Pilot candidates.

As this was a BC PNP Tech Pilot draw, invitations issued to SI and EEBC candidates were specifically targeted at Canadian immigration hopefuls with a job offer in any of the 29 key tech occupations. This is the second Tech Pilot draw by the BC PNP in October 2020, and the third BC PNP draw this month overall.

The Tech Pilot of the BC PNP is not a separate stream or category as such. To be eligible for the Tech Pilot, a candidate must be registered in any of the existing provincial immigration streams of the BC PNP, with a valid job offer of a minimum of 1 year in any of the eligible tech occupations.

In order to be considered by the BC PNP for the categories of SI or EEBC, the candidate must begin the process by creating their profile with the online portal of the BC PNP, registering under the Skills Immigration Registration System [SIRS].

On successful registration, a score is allotted on factors such as their location of employment in BC, work experience, education level, and proficiency in English.
