Best cities in the US to find a new job in 2020

WalletHub, the finance website, released its ranking for the best cities in the US for jobs. WalletHub surveyed 180 US cities and ranked them based on 31 key indicators.

The US cities were scored on the “job market” ranking, which included job opportunities, starting salary, employment growth, job satisfaction, unemployment rate etc.

Each US city also got a “socioeconomic” ranking as well to see how well workers actually lived in those cities. These included factors like the average commute to work, median household income, affordability of housing, and how well a certain city was equipped for raising a family etc.

As per WalletHub, the best US city to find a new job in 2020 is Scottsdale in Arizona. Glassdoor, the job site, lists 67,809 available job positions in the city in high-growth industries like computer software, healthcare and information technology.

The average household income of Scottsdale was pegged at $84,601 per year, as per the US Census Bureau. It is significantly higher than the national average household income of $63,179 in 2018.

Other cities in Arizona that made it to the top 10 are Tempe and Chandler.

The months of January and February have always been the most popular time to look for a new job in the US. As per the US Bureau of Labour Statistics, there are over 7.3 million vacant jobs in the US. The unemployment rate in the US is estimated at just 3.5%. This means that there are ample job opportunities for those seeking jobs in the US.
