Canada’s Prince Edward Island recently released the details of 2 of its Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] draws held in August 2020. In the biggest PEI PNP draw to be held ever, 305 invitations were issued to candidates in all streams – Business Impact, Labour Impact, and Express Entry – on August 20, 2020.
Of the total 305 issued, while 28 went to Business Impact candidates, 277 invitations were for candidates under the Express Entry and Labour Impact categories. The PEI PNP usually does not give a breakdown of how many invitations were issued in each of the individual categories of Express Entry and Labour Impact. The “minimum point threshold for Business Invitations” in the August 20 draw was 112. No minimum Expression of Interest [EOI] score was given for the other 2 categories. As per the PEI PNP, invitations issued in August 2020 consisted of “all Express Entry and those Labour Expression of Interest profiles submitted up to June 2020 that stated they are living and working in PEI”.
