The province of British Columbia has issued 407 invitations through a BC Provincial Nominee Program [BC PNP] draw held on September 15, 2020. As per the official website, “the BC PNP issued invitations to apply to qualified registrants in Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories”.

The previous BC PNP draw was held on September 8, 2020.

The Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC [EEBC] categories of the BC PNP are for international graduates and skilled workers that have the education, skills and/or experience needed for occupations that are in high demand in the province.

Those invited can now submit their complete application to the BC PNP for a provincial nomination. If approved as a provincial nominee, the immigration candidate can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] to be granted permanent residence through Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

British Columbia uses the Skills Immigration Registration System [SIRS] for managing the categories that come under the BC PNP. To be able to apply through the SIRS, candidates that are otherwise eligible would be required to begin by registering themselves.

On successful registration with the SIRS, a score is allotted based on various factors like education, language proficiency, and work experience.

The highest-scoring candidates are then issued invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in the subsequent BC PNP draws that are held.

In the latest BC PNP draw held on September 15, the minimum required score ranged from 75 to 95 across the 5 sub-categories that received invitations.
