The province of British Columbia in Canada has held its latest round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

On May 11, 2021, British Columbia PNP, also referred to as BC PNP, issued a total of 379 invitations in the two separate draws held the same day.

Those invited can now proceed to applying for a provincial nomination through the BC PNP for their Canadian permanent residence. This is the second round of invitations to be held by British Columbia this month. Previously, 84 invitations were issued in the May 4 BC PNP Tech Pilot draw. The invitations to apply issued by the BC PNP went out to candidates under the categories of Skills Immigration [SI] and Express Entry BC [EEBC]. The minimum score taken into consideration in the BC PNP draws is that allotted following an assessment on the Skills Immigration Registration System [SIRS]. The SIRS score comes into play after successful registration of a profile with the BC PNP Online. An online points-based application management system, SIRS helps BC in selecting in-demand workers for meeting the local labour requirements of the province.

An Overview of May 11 BC PNP round of invitations
Draw 1 of 2   Invitations issued: 48   [only to NOC 0621, NOC 0631] Category Minimum Score

SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled 77

Note. – By NOC is implied the National Occupational Classification matrix. NOC 0621: Retail and wholesale trade managers, NOC 0631: Restaurant and food service managers. The EEBC category is linked with the federal Express Entry system of the federal government of Canada managed through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC].

Worth 600 CRS points, a PNP nomination guarantees an ITA by IRCC.

Here, by CRS is implied the Comprehensive Ranking System that is used for the purposes of ranking Express Entry profiles against one another. It is only the highest-ranked IRCC Express Entry profiles that are issued invitations to apply for Canada PR. Not all federal Express Entry profiles receive invitations. With the latest round of invitations, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program has issued a total of 4,355 invitations so far in 2021.
