During the time of the pandemic, candidates have the permission to do their courses online. These candidates will remain eligible for the Post Graduation Work Permit. IRCC has announced that this rule will be followed till August 31, 2023 so that it becomes easy for the international students to migrate to Canada.
International students who are pursuing their courses abroad or who have applied for study permits before August 31, 2022 will be allowed to complete their 100 percent course online. Their eligibility for the PGWP will not be affected.
Before the pandemic, students were allowed to pursue only 50 percent of their courses online. The time spent on pursuing the course online is deducted from the length of PGWP. It means that if students will start their online course from September 1, 2023, their length of PDWP will be deducted.
