In a recent announcement, IRCC has stated that international student graduates in 2025 are no longer required to meet field-of-study requirement to be eligible for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). This requirement was already there for college graduates in 2024 but now it has been extended to Canadian universities too.
International Graduates in Canada will be eligible to apply for Canada PGWP after completing their bachelors or master’s program if they meet language requirements. This new move is expected to help Universities and colleges in Canada attract and retain more number of foreign talents in the country.
