According to the latest reports by the Canadian Labor Force Survey, employment in Canada rose by 76,000 in January 2025 after a 0.4% hike in December and a 0.2% increase in November 2024. The employment rate rose to 61.1% for Canadian youth aged between 15 and 24 years.
The year-over-year employment for private sector employees rose to 215,000. Industries, including manufacturing and professional, scientific, and technical services, reported the maximum number of employment gains as of January 2025.
