• IRCC has opened the 2024 Canada Express Entry IEC pool.

IEC pool function

IEC is a work permit program that will allow candidates from other countries to reside and work in Canada temporarily. Applicants from other countries who have bilateral Youth Mobility Agreements with Canada can qualify for an IEC work permit. Interested individuals can submit applications to the IRCC if they are within the eligible age range. The department will select the candidates who meet all the basic eligibility requirements, and then they send invitations to apply for a work permit.

_{Applicants will receive work permits under three streams:}

1. Working Holiday stream – This will allow holders to work for 2 years in Canada for most employers.
2. Young Professional stream – This issues employer-specific work permits for applicants who have a job offer and plan to work for a single employer.
3. International Co-op Internship stream – Applicants who are enrolled in a post-secondary program to work for a specific Canadian company will receive under this stream, and they must have arranged for co-op placements before applying.

Eligibility criteria to apply for IEC pool

• Must be a passport holder or citizen of one of 35 partner countries.
• Be within the eligible age range (18-29, 18-30, or 18-35, (all-inclusive), depending on the applicant's nationality)
• Have $2,500 CAD before entering Canada
• Be admissible to Canada
• Dependents should not be accompanied
• Pay the fees
