Canadian immigration policies are undergoing significant updates, in a move to address persistent labor shortages across the nation. When applying for the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), employers must make sure the labor market impact assessment (LMIA) they provide meets the most recent salary requirements.
According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), for LMIA applications submitted as of January 1, 2024, employers are required to update salary for temporary foreign workers to comply with TFWP requirements.

While most employers must obtain an LMIA before hiring a temporary foreign worker, some exemptions exist for employers from the LMIA requirement. The latest update to the list of exclusions and associated codes, released on December 15, 2022, outlines three categories exempt from the LMIA requirement:
