In the latest Express Entry Draw #152 held on June 11, immigration candidates under the Canadian Experience Class [CEC] were specifically targeted. 3,559 Invitations to Apply [ITAs] were issued with the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] cut-off being 437.

This is the lowest CRS requirement for CEC candidates since 2017.

The previous CEC-only draw was held on May 28 and had a CRS cut-off of 440.

Another draw had been held the previous day on June 10, inviting 341 Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] candidates with a minimum CRS of 743.

Tie-break rule applied in the June 11 draw had the date and time as May 25, 2020, at 00:31:43 UTC. All CEC candidates that had submitted their profiles before the date and time in the tie-break rule and who had a CRS of 437 and above were issued an ITA in this invitation round.

With the latest draw, the total ITAs issued so far this year comes to 46,000.

Even with the COVID-19 special measures in Canada, more ITAs have been issued in 2020 as compared to the same time in 2019.

Since the travel restrictions were imposed on March 18, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] has been focusing on candidates that are more likely to already be in Canada as against immigration candidates that were overseas.

As CEC and PNP candidates are the likeliest of them all to already be in Canada, the draws since March 18 have alternated between the CEC and the PNP.

Despite coronavirus special measures in Canada, the Express Entry system is still operational and profiles continue to be accepted for the same.

A total of 19 Express Entry draws have been held in 2020 so far.
