The federal government of Canada has eased health insurance requirements for Super Visa applicants. Under the updated changes, candidates having health insurance policies from non-Canadian insurers are also eligible for a Super Visa application.
Previously, applicants were required to have a health insurance policy purchased from Canadian insurers to be eligible for a Super visa. The new requirements aim to make the process of obtaining a Super Visa easier for parents and grandparents. The new policy will be effective from January 28, 2025.

A non-Canadian health insurance policy would be eligible for a Super Visa only if it adheres to the following requirements:
Note: Candidates migrating to Canada via Super Visa must demonstrate proof of payment of a health insurance plan to the border services officer while entering the country.
