• IRCC opened the IEC 2024 pool in December of last year.
• The last day for the International Experience Class (IEC) application pool is October 21, 2024.
• Candidates who are looking to apply for the IEC program must submit their applications before the given deadline.
• The 2024 intake for the IEC program is 90,000 applications.

What is the Canada International Experience Class (IEC)?

The International Experience Class (IEC) is a work permit for youth aged 18 to 35. The program allows youngsters to gain international work experience by allowing them to live and work in Canada for up to 2 years. The IEC offers three different streams for individuals to choose from.

The three major streams of the International Experience Class (IEC) are as follows:

• International Co-op (Internship)
• Young Professionals
• Working Holiday

Requirements for Canada International Experience Class (IEC)
 

Candidates from countries with a Youth mobility agreement (YMA) with Canada can apply for the IEC program.

They must also fulfill the below eligibility requirements to qualify for the Canada IEC program:

• Must be between 18-35 (18-30 for some countries)
• A passport
• Port of Entry Letter
• Proof of travel itinerary
• Most recent bank statements acquired at least 7 days before flying to Canada
• Proof of sufficient funds of at least $2,500
• Medical insurance
• A clear criminal record
