Canada PR application deadline reduced to 60 days

Canada PR application deadline has now been reduced to 60 days by IRCC and is applicable to candidates who received the ITAs after 26 June 2018. Thus candidates who receive the PR invites from now on have just 2 months to submit the Canada PR application. They will have to submit the complete electronic application within this deadline, as quoted by the CIC News.

The revised deadline was announced by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada on 26 June 2018. It also clarified that the earlier deadline of 90 days will be applicable to candidates who were offered the ITA before 26 June 2018.

The pool of aspiring immigrants to Canada is managed by the Express Entry application system. It has 3 major economic immigration pathways – Canada Experience Class, Skilled Trades Class Federal, and Skilled Worker Class Federal.

Candidates who are qualified through any one of the 3 categories can submit their profile in the Express Entry system. It assigns a score for ranking under the CRS - Comprehensive Ranking System.

Regular invitation rounds in the Express Entry poll are held by IRCC. The highest ranked candidates are offered an ITA for Canada PR.

The candidates who now receive the ITA now have 60 days time to submit their Canada PR application. They must substantiate their profiles by offering supporting documents. The e-APR or complete electronic application also needs to be specified within the deadline.

The submission of the supporting documents and e-APR must be done through the online Express Entry account of the applicant. The deadline now stands reduced to 60 days from 90 days.
