As per reports, Canada will be reaching 55 million vaccine doses in the near future, catching up with the U.S. on COVID-19 vaccination second doses.
According to COVID-19 Tracker Canada, as per the latest update, “more than 43,014,172 doses” of the approved COVID-19 vaccines had been administered across Canada. |
Almost 70% of the Canadian population had received at least 1 dose of the vaccine. Approximately 44% of the population in Canada were fully vaccinated.
87 countries worldwide have a population of a minimum of 10 million individuals.
With 68.4%, Canada leads among the countries with 10+ million population in terms of the percentage of population to have received 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As per the World Health Organization, as of July 11, 2021, a total of 3,114,766,865 vaccine doses had been administered worldwide. This can be equated to 45 doses for every 100 individuals.
Nevertheless, there is a great variance between the vaccination programs of the different countries.
While the vaccination rates by continent were highest for North America and Europe, Oceania and Africa have comparatively a lot of catching up to do in terms of their vaccination programs.
