Canada ranks second across the globe for exceptional quality of life, highly developed educational system, citizenship along the most welcoming immigration policies. Most people dream to get settled in Canada. The immigration policies of Canada are eased for the people, who plan to migrate for study, work, business, or permanent residence along with many other new policies. But all these policies are substituted by new ones because of the pandemic outbreak.

From 90 to 60 days for the Express Entry applicants According to the official Press Release dated June 29, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has reverted to the 60 days' application deadline for Express Entry candidates invited to apply. That means the express entry candidates will have 60 days to apply from the day they get the invitation to the day they submit their application. These changes were informed to the media by the Canadian Immigration Department.

IRCC predicts that the return from 90 to 60 days will permit the department to process more applications than expected. The restrictions will be more for the entrants who are affected by COVID -19. The complete list of details about the COVID or pandemic restrictions is on the IRCC government webpage. These restrictions apply to the applicants whose application is still under processing, who will apply for Canadian immigration, COPR holders (Confirmation of Permanent Residency), and few others.

Make a note that Express Entry people who received their invitations before June 29, 2021will have 90 days to submit their form for availing of permanent residence in Canada. Hence the reduction from 90 to 60 days will be applicable for the people who are yet to be invited in the coming weeks.

The IRCC has decided to revert from 90 to 60 days after analyzing that 57% of applicants have submitted the applications within two months, even though they were allotted 90 days of the period. All these restrictions will be continued for a week until Canada accepts the COPR holders to cross the border.
