As per the new data with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC], Canada welcomed another 15,000 new immigrants in the month of October 2020.
The arrivals of new Canadian permanent residents into the country in October remained at the same level as in September this year.
Around 15,100 new immigrants were welcomed by IRCC in October 2020, making the month the second strongest month for new arrivals to Canada since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Approximately 158,600 immigrants have been welcomed by Canada in 2020 so far. While IRCC might fall short of its target of welcoming 341,000 in 2019, the shortfall has already been addressed and measures taken to compensate for the same.
As per the 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan announced by the federal government of Canada on October 30, 2020, more than 4 lakh immigrants are to be welcomed annually in the coming years.

The strongest month for Canadian immigration this year was June wherein Canada had inducted 19,100 new Canadian permanent residents. The Express Entry of Canada remains one of the most popular immigration systems worldwide.

Many provinces have held PNP draws in November 2020.
