Another Canadian Experience Class [CEC]-specific draw held by Canada on June 25, 2020. In Express Entry Draw #154, Canada has invited 3,508 immigration candidates to apply for Canada permanent residence.

The previous draw was held on June 24, 2020.

In the latest draw, Invitations to Apply [ITAs] were issued to those Express Entry candidates that were eligible for the CEC and had a Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score as low as 431.

The profiles of candidates applying for Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs – the Federal Skilled Trades Program [FSTP], the Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP], and the Canadian Experience Class [CEC] – are managed through the Express Entry system.

The Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS], on the other hand, is used for the purposes of ranking profiles when they are in the Express Entry pool. The highest-ranked profiles receive invitations in subsequent draws.

Recently, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] have been focussing more on immigration candidates that were more likely to already be in Canada as compared to those that would have to come from abroad. Since March 18 when travel restrictions as part of the COVID-19 special measures were imposed in Canada, IRCC has been alternating between holding CEC and PNP specific draws.

The last all-program – FSWP, FSTP, and CEC – the draw was held on March 4, 2020.

A tie-break rule of April 3, 2020 at 12:56:32 UTC was applied. All CEC candidates that had submitted their profiles before the date and time in the tie-break received an ITA in the June 25 draw, provided they had a CRS score of 431 and above.

While there is no information from IRCC as to the next FSWP draw, candidates intending to immigrate to Canada in 2020 are encouraged to continue with the submission of their Express Entry profiles. In addition to already being in the pool when the next FSWP draw is held, such candidates will also be visible to the provinces and territories of Canada at the time of Express Entry-linked PNP draws.

With the latest draw, total of 49,900 Express Entry candidates invited by Canada in 2020 until now.

Total 21 Express Entry draws held in 2020 so far.
