The United States is a main country to which Indians want to migrate and later transfer their citizenship to other countries. In 2021, the number of Indians who abandoned their US citizenship was 163,370. These Indians moved to other countries. This number was revealed by the latest government data.
The abandonment of US citizenship came down during the COVID period and 85,256 Indians relinquished their citizenship. In 2019, the number of people who left their US citizenship was 144,017.
Most Indians transferred their citizenship to the United States, Australia, Canada, and the UK. The table below will reveal the number of Indians who migrated to these countries:
