UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians

The UK Home Office has announced details about the final ballot of 2024 under the India Young Professional Scheme. The scheme allows young Indians to migrate, study, and work in the UK for a period of 24 months, offering a streamlined pathway for UK immigration.

 

Applications for the final ballot period will open today, July 16, 2024, at 13:30 IST and close on July 18, 2024. Willing candidates between 18 and 30 years old, with a bachelor's degree or more and a minimum possession of GBP 2,530, can apply for this scheme.

 

The UK Home Office had allocated 3000 slots under the scheme, but the maximum slots were already filled by the February 2024 ballot. The remaining slots will be distributed in the July 2024 ballot. There is no entry fee for the ballot, but qualifying applicants will have to pay GBP 298 to apply for the visa. Candidates can reapply if they are not selected in the July ballot.

Eligibility Criteria for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians

You would be eligible to apply for the scheme if you:

 

  • Are an Indian citizen within 18 to 30 years of age
  • Are at least 18 years old on the date of your immigration to the UK
  • Have a Bachelor’s or a higher degree recognised by the (Regulated Qualifications Framework level 6, 7, or 8)
  • Have a minimum savings of £2,530
  • Do not have any dependent children under 18 years for whom you are financially responsible

 

Documents required for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians

The following are the documents required for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians:

 

  • A valid passport or documents to prove your identity and nationality
  • Bank account details showing your minimum balance of £2,530
  • Educational qualifications documents
  • Tuberculosis(TB) test results (If applicable)
  • Police clearance certificate issued by the respective authorities

 

How to Apply for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians

The application process for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme for Indians is mentioned below:

 

Step 1: Check if you are eligible and enter the ballot during the dates specified

Step 2: Wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the visa upon selection. The ITA will be mailed within two weeks of the ballot closing date.

Step 3: Gather all the required documents

Note: Eligible Indian applicants willing to migrate and work in the UK can apply for the Employment Visa E-1 throughout the year, the Indian equivalent of the UK's ballot system.
