UAE launches exclusive website for golden residency visa

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) of the UAE has announced the launch of a dedicated website for entrepreneurs and specialized talents which will review their applications and provide guidance on the procedures to be followed to obtain a permanent golden residency in the UAE.

Applicants must submit their application and official documents through the website https://business.goldenvisa.ae. Following this the FAIC will complete the procedures to issue a golden visa to entrepreneurs and people with special talents.

A dedicated website makes it easy to submit applications and check its status periodically. It helps government officials to check if the applications have the required attachments and meet the prerequisites.

According to Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the website for golden residency applications is just the starting point and more benefits and features are planned to be provided for entrepreneurs and business owners to encourage them to invest in the country.

He also said that the benefits and features will shorten the application process and provide business owners with facilities that will simplify the procedure of applying for a golden visa.

The website was launched subsequent to the cabinet's decision to regulate the issue of residency permits to investors and entrepreneurs.  The cabinet has decided to issue a permanent golden residency to entrepreneurs for a five-year term and they will become eligible for permanent residency provided they meet the conditions under the investor category.

The golden residency visa was launched with the intention of providing investors, entrepreneurs, specialized talents, researchers etc. the ease of doing business and creating the right investment environment for them to flourish.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Dubai Chamber signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and the Dubai Free Zone Council and launched the "Be Part of Dubai” initiative. This is intended to help entrepreneurs get the Golden Residency visa.
