The federal government of Canada has held another round of Express Entry invitations – through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] – inviting candidates to submit their application for Canadian permanent residence.
Express Entry Draw #186 held on May 12, 2021, had a total of 557 invitations issued to Express Entry candidates that were provincial nominees under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada.
The previous Express Entry draw was held on April 29, 2021.
With nearly 80 immigration pathways or ‘streams’ available, the PNP of Canada is for those intending to take up Canada PR and want to live within a specific province or territory in Canada.
To be eligible for the PNP, a candidate must have the “skills, education and work experience” to be able to contribute to the economy of a particular province/territory.
PNP streams might target – skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, students, or business people.
Many of the PNP streams are linked with the federal Express Entry system.
As this was a PNP-only draw, the minimum score requirement, as per the Comprehensive Ranking System, was that of CRS 752.
A PNP nomination is worth 600 CRS points in itself.
