The latest federal draw through the Express Entry system of Canada invited those with Canadian experience. This is the second draw to be held within two days.
On May 13, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] invited another 4,147 Canada immigration hopefuls to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system.
As per IRCC, “Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class were eligible for this round of invitations.”
The previous Express Entry draw was held on May 12, 2021.

Here, CRS score is the ranking score allotted out of a total of 1,200 points while in the Express Entry pool.
The CRS score is different and not to be confused with the 67-points Canada eligibility calculation.
The Canadian Experience Class, commonly referred to as simply the CEC, is 1 of the 3 federal economic immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system.
The other 2 Express Entry programs are the Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP] and the Federal Skilled Trades Program [FSTP].
IRCC Express Entry is an online application system used for managing Canada immigration applications.
The CEC targets skilled workers that – · Have Canadian work experience, and · Wish to take up permanent residence in Canada.
For eligibility, a minimum of 1 year’s skilled work experience in Canada – in the previous 3 years before applying to the Express Entry – will be required.
The Canadian work experience must have been gained while in the country on a temporary resident status with the authorization for work in Canada. |
Those intending to immigrate to Quebec province will be required to apply to the relevant Quebec immigration program.
With a tie-breaking rule of April 29, 2021 at 11:48:14 UTC applied to Express Entry Draw #187, those eligible for the CEC and with at least CRS 401 as their ranking score received invitations, provided they had entered their profile before the tie-break applied.
With the latest federal draw, IRCC has invited 66,475 in 2021 so far to apply for Canada PR through the Express Entry system.
Permanent residence applications submitted through the Express Entry have a standard processing time of within 6 months.
