France has opened its doors to overseas tech talents with the new Tech Visa. This is even as the UK plans to have stringent borders after Brexit. Even the US continues with its anti-immigration stand under Trump administration.
The new Tech Visa launched by France makes it easy for Start-ups to hire overseas workers. The new scheme is already operational from 1 March 2019. This is under the initiative of the French Government La French Tech.
France has described it as one of the most open Start-up worker Visas in Europe.
La French Tech Director Kat Borlongan said that Brexit is making overseas tech talents feel less welcome. So we want to be ready to assist 1000s of tech talents to opt for France, she added.
The new Tech Visa is not just overhauling of administrative procedures says Kat Borlongan. It conveys a message that France is ambitious and remains open. We are supporting our 1000s of Start-ups in their complex growth pathway, added the Director.
Borlongan explained that there is a scarcity of Product Managers and professionals in Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. This has resulted in a bottleneck. It has prevented Start-ups from growing and developing effectively, she added.
Salaries are being raised by the 5 major Tech firms – Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple, and Amazon. This is making it tougher for Start-ups to remain competitive, as quoted by the ZD Net.
Start-ups also need to often scale speedily. The new Tech Visa has been designed to offer liberty to the founders to expand their firm at the required pace. They can qualify through 4 ways for this Visa:
