France is now open for Indian nationals.
Vaccinated Indians can now travel to France for – work overseas, study abroad, and even visit France as a tourist. Indian travelers are no longer banned from entering France, as India has been put by France on its Amber List in view of the decreasing COVID-19 infection rates in India.

From June 9, 2021, the movement of travelers between France and other foreign countries has been resumed. The terms and conditions applicable to each traveler to France will be as per the health status of the countries as well as the vaccination status of the travelers themselves.
With Indian being put on the Amber List by France, the visa centres in Mumbai and Delhi have now begin accepting applications for all France visa categories. Additionally, children coming from India will not be required to be quarantined on their arrival in France.
To be permitted to enter the country, travelers coming to France from India will have to fall under any of the following categories |
· Fully vaccinated [with Covishield/AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria, Moderna, or Pfizer/Comirnaty], and hold a Schengen visa [Type D] valid for 3 to 5 years. · 7 days to have passed since receiving the final shot of the European Medicines Agency authorised vaccines · Must be able to provide a vaccination certificate, thereby proving that they don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19 infection · Is unvaccinated or vaccinated with a yet-to-be-approved vaccine [such as Covaxin] · Hold a “talent passport” or be a student/researcher. A negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travelling to France or a rapid antigen test 48 hours before departure will be required. |
