European countries have been planning and implementing new visa policies to ease immigration and facilitate the tourism and hospitality sectors. Germany, France, and Portugal have introduced new visas for skilled professionals who are willing to migrate and work abroad.
The new visas and updated visa policies aim to streamline the immigration process for skilled professionals while addressing the current labor market requirements. Germany’s Opportunity Card, Portugal’s seasonal and long-term visas, and France's new Talent passport visa are some of the latest visas launched by European countries to attract skilled foreign workers.
On June 01, 2024, Germany introduced the Opportunity Card to welcome skilled non-EU professionals to migrate to Germany and look for employment opportunities there.

The Talent Passport Visa is a part of the EU Blue Card scheme that allows the extension of the France residence permits of skilled professionals having an employment contract of more than one year. The minimum salary requirement to be eligible for this visa is 1.5 times the average gross income in France, which is approximately €35,891 per year.
