Germany made a new record of hosting 350,000 students in the winter semester 2021-2022. According to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, the number of international students has increased by 8 percent in comparison to the previous year. This increase ranked Germany to fourth after the USA, the UK, and Australia.
Last year, 40,000 students came from China along with India, Syria, Turkey, and Austria. The table below reveals the details:

Federal Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger stated that universities in Germany have an excellent reputation all over the world. The number of Indian students was increased by 18 percent over a year. The number of Indian students for first-year studies was raised by 33 percent. DAAD has reported that India could surpass China regarding the number of international students in Germany.
According to the Scientific Director of the DZHW, Monika Jungbauer-Gans, there was an increase of 89 percent of international students in comparison to the winter term 2010-2011. Around 53 percent chose any one of the following subjects:
