According to reports by Bertelsmann Stiftung, Germany would require around 288,000 foreign workers per year until 20240 to meet the economic and labor force demands of the country.
The country looks forward to the domestic workforce participation rate to boost the labor market. Depending on the rate of participation of domestic workers, Germany might require a higher number of foreign workers, approximately 368,000 per year.

The Bertelsmann Stiftung report put a huge emphasis on immigration as a solution to Germany’s economic and labour market requirements. The country is therefore planning to implement new policies to retain already existing foreign workers along with bringing new ones to the country.
The German government has started implementing new measures as Germany opens doors to Indian tech talent in 2025 with updated EU Blue Card policies. Under the new policies, the country will lower the minimum salary requirement so that it will be easy for foreign workers to get EU blue Card in Germany.
