The latest study by the Cologne Institute for Economic Research revealed that Germany is facing an all-time high-level worker shortage. Currently, there are over 630,000 job vacancies in the country, implying that Germany critically needs migrant workers to help its economy.

The report also mentioned that it is becoming more challenging for German employers to fill positions with more qualifications. The most affected fields by the shortage to work on are mainly IT, construction, and electrical engineering. The country is also facing a shortage in social services, health, education, and teaching.
