According to recent news, the French government has published a list of occupations facing labor shortages since 2021. The list includes sectors like hospitality, construction, and home care.
Reports show that labor shortages are more prominent in hotels, restaurants, and construction fields. The Government has also announced that, upon eligibility, undocumented foreign workers can now apply for a one-year residence permit and work permit.

Under the new changes proposed by the French Government, undocumented foreign workers in France will be able to regularise their status. Eligible candidates can apply for a one-year residence permit and an automatic work permit in France.
Undocumented foreign workers living in France for a minimum of 3 years will be eligible to apply for a residence permit if they have worked in one of the occupations facing labor shortages in the last 12 months.
