The highest numbers of UK Tech Visa applications were filed from India as per the latest report from Tech Nation. TN is the top network for Digital Tech Entrepreneurs in the UK. The US was in the second position.
Tech Nation is the designated body for the UK Tech Visa by the UK Home Office. It found that applications filed from India were spread across diverse sectors. The applications for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent UK Tech Visa increased by 45% in the year 2018-19. It reached from 450 in 2017-18 to 650 in the current year.
The report from Tech Nation elaborated that highest applications for UK Tech Visa applications continued to field from India followed by the US. The applicants are from diverse sectors including Business Developers and Software Engineers in Software Development. These are also from Enterprise/Cloud, Fin-Tech, and AI & Machine Learning.
The nations in the list for top applicants also include South Africa, China, Australia, Canada, Russia, and Nigeria.
Tech Nation is one among the only 5 DCB - Designated Competent Bodies appointed by the Home Office for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent UK Tech Visa. This is in the fields of Science, Medicine, Engineering, Technology, and Media and Arts.
Applicants for UK Tech Visa are specially endorsed by the Tech Nation through the Digital Technology route. It receives almost 50% of the total applications for Tier 1 Visa, as quoted by the Business Standard.

200 places for each fiscal year are allocated to every DCB. There is also a provision to draw from an emergency quota of 1,000 extra places allocated by the UK Home Office. This is in a scenario of extraordinary levels of incoming outstanding talent.
