According to recent statistical data, Germany is one of the most preferred destinations among Indian students. A press release by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) revealed that Indian students comprise the largest community of international students studying in Germany.
Data by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany reports a 2x increase in the number of Indian students in Germany, marking a 15.1% hike as compared to the figures of 2023. The table below shows the breakdown of courses preferred by Indian students in Germany:

Under the new Act launched by the German government on March 01, 2024, non-EU students can now work up to 20 hours every week instead of the 10 hours that were allowed earlier.
As per the new Act, international students who migrate to Germany for educational purposes but have yet to enroll in a study program can now take German language courses.
