Indian workers in demand abroad

In a national conference held recently, the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) CEO Ved Mani Tiwari stated that India is planning to send around 100,000 skilled workers abroad for each year in the upcoming two years. This move is a part of the soft diplomacy policy under which India has agreed to support the developing nations in meeting their labour market requirements.

The move is expected to begin in 2027, and India will be deploying around one lakh care workers annually. The CEO also commented that this move is expected to enhance India footprints significantly in the upcoming years.

High demand for healthcare professionals

Countries like Israel, Japan, and Germany have a huge demand for skilled workers, especially in the healthcare sector. Israel alone needs around 5,000 healthcare workers. The NSDC CEO opined that this offers a wonderful opportunity for skilled professionals to migrate and work abroad.

The NSDC is planning to extend advisory services across the Gulf countries to ensure effective implementation of workforce development programs.  The institution will also set up new international language labs and assessment centres to train for languages like Russian, Korean, Italian and French to enhance global employability.
